Help Us Design a Community Campaign About Pain

We’re running workshops starting in June 2025 to co-design an education campaign about chronic pain—and we’d love for you to be part of it.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Live or work in or around Mt Gambier, Naracoorte, Millicent, Hamilton, Ararat, Stawell, or Horsham

  • Are 18 years or older

  • Speak English

If you're curious, interested, or just want to hear more, click the button below and we’ll get in touch for a quick chat. There’s no commitment—we’ll simply give you more info and answer any questions.

We’re collecting your name, phone number, and email address so we can contact you about this research study. Your details will be stored securely on the University of South Australia server and will only be used for this study. Your information is private and confidential. Only the research team will be able to see it.

What happens if I join?

Full details are outlined in the Participant Information Sheet (click here). A summary is provided below.

If you take part, you’ll be invited to attend 1 to 3 workshops (2–3 hours each, with breaks). These will be held in person in one of the towns listed above, and there may also be an option to attend online.

During the workshops, we’ll ask you to help us shape the pain education campaign by:

  • Generating ideas together

  • Collaboratively creating and building on early designs

  • Ensuring your local knowledge and lived experience is at the heart of designs

We’ll also ask you to complete a short questionnaire.

You’ll be reimbursed for your time and travel (specific information provided in Participant Information Sheets below)

Who Are These Workshops For?

Everyone’s welcome! You’ll likely fall into one of the following groups:

🌿 Local Community Members
You might live with chronic pain, have experienced it in the past, or care for someone who does. Or maybe you're just a community member who wants to help. You don’t need to be a professional—just interested.

🩺 Healthcare Providers
If you work in a healthcare role and support people with chronic pain (e.g. GP, physio, psychologist, pharmacist, etc.), we’d love your perspective.

🏛️ Community Interest-Holders & Decision-Makers
This includes people who help shape community life—like local employers, sports clubs, government reps, or anyone involved in programs or policies that impact people with chronic pain.
