Wrapping up Stage 1 of EQUiPP
In Stage 1 of our project, we set out to explore the local community's views on their health priorities, information-seeking behaviours, and the most effective ways to engage them in a future co-design process. To achieve this, we partnered with Pain Revolution, a not-for-profit initiative. Pain Revolution runs a Rural Outreach Tour, hosting a series of pain education events for healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and the general public. Their tour has now concluded in Horsham, and you can learn more about their initiatives on their website.
By partnering with Pain Revolution, we were able to spend 9 days meeting a tremendous variety of community members and characters, generating significant insights into how each of the communities in the region come together. We have been thrilled with the response we received, and are looking forward to spending some time unpacking the many insights we have recorded about each of the local communities.
While we have left the region for now, our next step is to look at how we might translate what we have discovered into a plan to have the most impact possible when we return in the new year. We are very excited to have connected with so many passionate people, including those who have volunteered (or been volunteered) to help us lead engagement events and activities as we push forward with the official Phase 1 of the project, using co-design to develop a bespoke pain science messaging campaign for each of these wonderful communities.
